JOSE FACES CRITICS

There have been a lot of criticism of Chelsea manager José Mourinho in the last few days. He has been unable to get the Chelsea team to even a single victory in the last four matches.

There has also been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of several key players like Juan Mata. Despite being the club’s player of the year for the past two seasons, Mata has been unable to get into the first team under Mourinho. In his absence, Chelsea have been unable to create many chances. Mata has been one of the best goal creators in Europe over the last two seasons.

Many are even questioning the manager whether he knows his best team or not. The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager has strangely stated that he himself does not know his best team in a candid interview given to Chelsea TV. He has said that it is up to the players to show him that they are worthy of starting regularly. He has quoted the example of defender Branislav Ivanovic, who has started in every match for the club this season. Mourinho did say that a number of players who have not played a lot of football will be starting against Swindon in the League Cup.
“Of course, I don’t know. But the players have to give me the answers. I cannot dig and dig and dig looking for the best team. The players must give me the answer.

“Do I have a doubt that [Branislav] Ivanovic is in this moment my right-back? I have no doubt. You see the way the guy performs. So it is up to them,” said Mourinho to Chelsea TV.

Chelsea recently managed to end the run of four matches without a victory by getting a 2-0 win over Fulham during the weekend.
