CHELSEA TO PAY COSTA £185K PER WEEK FOR NOTHING

Premier League champs Chelsea are set to pay star striker Diego Costa £185,000 per week for doing nothing, according to reports.

The 28-year old is set to leave the club but the Blues are struggling to offload him.

Antonio Conte told the player too soon that his services were no longer required at Stamford Bridge. Costa was angered that he was texted such an important decision so he announced it. That act has affected the interests in the player as prospective employers know the club would have to lesser bargaining power during negotiations.

Chelsea maintain their demand in the player’s transfer, limiting the options. AC Milan are keen on signing the Spaniard but he does not want to move to Italy.

Alvaro Morata has joined from Real Madrid to lead the attack while MichyBatshuayi’s profile has risen of recent so he would partner Morata. However, Chelsea would need to keep Costa until his preferred club Atletico Madrid can sign him in January as they are currently banned.

The exiled player would likely reject the opportunity to play for the team following recent happenings so Chelsea would have to be paying him weekly until January while hoping to ship him off.

On the other hand, Chelsea might face competition from Barcelona for winger Eden Hazard. As Neymar Jr. is likely to exit the Nou Camp this summer, Barcelona would need two additions as reinforcement. Hazard has been named aside Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. There is still Ousmane Dembele who plays for Borussia Dortmund and Monaco star KylianMbappe. For now nothing concrete until the Neymar deal sails through.
